Apple announced to fully eliminated plastic from all product packaging by 2025. Deliveries now rely mainly on fiber-based materials. Additionally, the recyclability of the packaging has been technically optimized: large cardboard boxes are designed to fold into smaller units that fit into standard household recycling bins. According to the company, this material shift has saved over 15,000 tons of plastic since 2020.

The overall proportion of recycled materials in all Apple products delivered in 2025 stands at 30 percent. Key milestones include the implementation of 100 percent recycled cobalt in batteries and 100 percent recycled rare-earth metals in magnets. To recover materials from devices at the end of life, Apple utilizes the "Cora" facility in California, which uses precision shredding and sensor technology, alongside the AI software "A.R.I.S.", designed to help recycling partners sort electronic waste more efficiently.

These measures align with Apple’s strategy to achieve CO₂ neutrality by 2030. Greenhouse gas emissions remain 60 percent below the 2015 baseline and have stabilized despite rising sales. The annual environmental report, released for Earth Day, documents these developments as the supply chain gradually transitions toward secondary raw materials and closed-loop material cycles.
