Shorter Development Times for Flexible Packaging Papers
New Packaging Machine Expands Development and Testing Capabilities
Koehler Innovation & Technology has officially commissioned its first in-house packaging machine at the Oberkirch site. The ROVEMA BVC 260 is a vertical form-fill-seal machine that complements existing pilot facilities, establishing a continuous development process. This setup allows new paper concepts to be produced on a pilot scale and their processing properties to be tested directly on packaging equipment before they transition to large-scale production.
The system enables packaging solutions to be evaluated under realistic conditions, yielding valuable insights for product development. By closely integrating material research with practical application, Koehler aims to shorten development cycles and reduce market launch risks. Furthermore, combining fundamental and applied research will accelerate innovation, enhance quality, and lay the groundwork for sustainable products.
